Dear Sir / Madam,

We, the AASHAY Multipurpose Social Society, are a registered charitable organization established on Dtd. 26/09/2023 (Establishment No. Thane/0000676/2023). We work tirelessly to support physically challenged children, including those with cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, slow learning difficulties, mental retardation, and physical disabilities.

Our mission is to provide these children with comprehensive care under one roof. This includes essential services like physiotherapy, speech therapy, education, medical help, and full-time care – all designed to promote their development and empower them towards self-reliance.
Currently, we have applications for admission from 20-25 Boys/girls. However, our ability to accommodate them and provide the facilities they deserve is limited. We are actively constructing a dedicated space including a kitchen, toilet, and hall. However, to complete this project and create a truly enriching environment, we require your help. Our team has over 20 years of experience working with children with disabilities. We have witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by underprivileged families, particularly those in the lower and middle classes. Caring for these children is a constant challenge. Many are not toilet-trained, requiring their parents to dedicate all their time and energy to their basic needs. This often hinders parents' ability to work and financially support their families, ultimately hindering the children's development.

This is why AASHAY was established – to offer a safe haven for these children who often struggle to find admission in residential schools. Existing institutions are scarce, and their limited capacity leaves many deserving children without access to proper care. The emotional toll on parents is immense. Raising a child with disabilities requires constant supervision and intervention during moments of hyperactivity. The uncertainty of the future and the question of who will care for their children after they are gone creates a constant burden on these families.

AASHAY is an answer to their desperate prayers – a beacon of hope for a brighter future. We understand the pain and challenges these families face. Just imagine yourself in their shoes. With increased life expectancy for these children compared to their parents, it's crucial to secure their future. To achieve this, AASHAY needs your support: financial aid, adequate space, and a strong foundation. We implore you to become a beacon of hope for these children. Your contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
The AASHAY Multipurpose Social Society

Aashay Multi-Purpose Social Institution: Building a Brighter Future for Children with Disabilities

Our Mission: AASHAY Multi-Purpose Social Institution is on a journey to create a safe and supportive space for marginalized children with disabilities.

Our Inspiration: Both Mr. Salunke, a handicraft teacher with 19 years of experience in a residential school for special needs children, and Mrs. Kamble (Shanti), a social worker with 8 years of experience working with children like her own autistic daughter, Komal, have witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by these children and their families.

Their daily encounters with parents struggling to find appropriate educational opportunities for their children with disabilities due to limited admissions or financial constraints fueled a desire to make a difference.

The realization that many children were being left behind due to a lack of resources sparked the creation of Aashay.

Our Goals:

  • Provide Accessibility: AASHAY strives to increase access to education and overall development for children with disabilities.

  • Raise Awareness: We aim to create greater societal awareness and understanding of the needs of children with mental retardation and multiple disabilities.

  • Empower Families: AASHAY offers specialized training and counseling to families of special needs children, helping them navigate the challenges and cultivate independence in their children.

  • Promote Self-Reliance: We focus on equipping children with the skills and support necessary to become self-sufficient adults.

Our Philosophy: At AASHAY, we believe that "disability is not inability." Our focus is on empowering children in rural and urban Thane to thrive and lead fulfilling lives, alleviating the worries of their parents and ensuring a brighter future.

Our Commitment: AASHAY is dedicated to creating a safe space where the rights of children with disabilities are protected, and where they are nurtured to become self-reliant individuals.
